I run Mandriva LE 2005 (10.2) on a Dell 8600 laptop. I use a USB logictech cordless mouse that is rechargeable. I have noticed that if I boot linux with the mouse not plugged into the USB port it will not hotplug/plug-and-play and, work, if I try to plug it in at say, in a KDE session. The only solution I have found thus far is rebooting the machine with the mouse plugged into the computer.
I have no other problems. If I boot Mandriva with the mouse plugged in at the time, I can pull it out and plug it back into any USB port on my computer without any problems. My laptop does have a touchpad and has no issues (but I prefer using the USB mouse when I'm not mobile).
Anyone know what may be going on and what I may be able to do to fix it? I normally see the hotplug daemon start up every single time when I boot regardless if the USB mouse is plugged in or not. Is there a USB daemon that needs to start up too?
How annoying...
