i can say i am a to . i have been but i can't seem to find the solution to my problem.
I have Mandrake 10 installed and i also installed kde
i installed the nvidia drivers (i have GForce FX 5200) and configured XF86Config-4 properly (i think)
when i type startx X starts, i see the nvidia logo, and then a red screen with xclock in the upper right, and a terminal. (i am the root)
i want to switch to kde ((( but HOW do i do it ?????????????? i tried from the console, it said something about an xinint rerror and that startkde does not exist. what can i do ? i know i installed it
and one more thing : in slackware u have pkgtool to configure most of your sytem's settings in text mode.
how can u do it in mandrake ?

There are mulitple ways you can do this. You can edit your .xinitrc file which is probably in your home folder. Put exec kde in there and delete the line that starts the other window manager. You can type kdm, which will give you an X login screen.

oups, too late dude, i cleaned eveything with partition magic and after seeing some COOL stuff i decided to install slackware as my favourite linux distro
