Question Please HELP - konqueror device show only cdrom and floppy???

Hi , im using mandrake 10.1
after installing and opening the konquerorunder the device section i have only the cdrom and floppy which installed under /mnt/cdrom and /mnt/floppy . my hd doesnt show there at all even though i can see them if i go to /mnt and they appear there. also my /, /boot, /home doesnt appear under the device.
i have 2 HD. one with xp. the other with Linux.
i manage to do dual booting and all is ok. i have access to all the HD i want BUT why it doesnt show in the device. i have lookedat the FSTAB and its look good. as i said before all the disks are mounted but its strange.

the reason im asking is that i have tried to add DiskOnkey and it doesnt give me an access , it apears in the Hardware section under the other so i cant mount it.

i think i have a problem because the konqueror doesnt figuring the devices properly!!!

please someone help me im newbie...
thanks

Your cdrom and floppy get mounted under /mnt which is a folder stored on your hard disk. Under linux all your disks and partitions are displayed as one large filing system beginning with "/". In fstab you will have entries for /, /home and /boot but if those paritions are not mounted the folders will appear empty. They will only show their contents when a floppy disk, cdrom or hard disk partition gets mounted on them.

A good explanation can be found at http://www.linuxnovice.org/main_focu...=VIEW&t_id=126

Mandrakelinux 10.1 uses udev to manage most devices. My /dev directory contains hda1, hda2, etc. These are the HDD's on your system.

HTH,
