Plain English will do!

I really enjoy using Mandriva Spring but one thing i can't stand is when i do a Google search for "Logitech webcam drivers" for example, and everything is in French. Is there anyway i can alter this?

Change your Google preferences to only search for sites in English.

On the Google search page, click the Advanced Search link to the right of the search terms text entry field. On the Language line (directly below the Find results section, select English in answer to Return pages written in.

The advanced search allows you to customize your search in many powerful ways. Sadly, you can configure only the language(s) of returned pages and the filtering level (strict, medium, and no filtering) in the preferences page, but it is better than nothing. The first time I used the Google preferences page, I did so in hopes of making the Linux option (in Topic-specific Searches) a default.

HTH,

Apart from these suggestions. I have found that if you use firefox with the default mandriva page set then using the search bar that it has, it automatically searches the french version of google thus all the french. Also I am not sure about how many other systems are affected but I have found that mandriva automatically installs just about all the different language packages in existance, not that they cause french results, but at least you get a bit of extra space and save time downloading and installing their updates if you get rid of them.
