pear issue with Apache 2 and PHP

Hi all! My server has Apache 2 installed on it, along with php for it, and pear...now its running on a Mandrake 10.1 distro....I have tried and tried to get everything working with php BUT for some stupid reason its not working...

The error is as follows:
Warning: Unknown(/var/www/html/info.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0

Warning: (null)(): Failed opening '/var/www/html/info.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php/:/usr/share/pear/') in Unknown on line 0

I'd like to keep Apache 2 at this point. I dont have much going on as far as production, and since I have most of what I need setup already, and was just trying to finish off getting php going when I came across that error.

Pear was manually installed, and the apache2 and php were done via rpms/ I have attempted to get php.ini going by not allowing the line for the pear path to terminate in /'s . But that of course did not work!

If anyone has the workaround for this to get it going for apache 2 , I would appreciate it!
