OPJose please disregard, I went ahead and reinstalled and reformatted, I knew I could do this but wanted to avoid somehow all the extra work of reloading, so I would not have to go back and reinstall some of the software packages and settings I already had installed.

When I try to do any URPMI commands I get the following:
[root@localhost stan]# urpmi --auto-select
Can't locate URPM.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6/i386-linux/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.3 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.2 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.1 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/urpm.pm line 16.

Do you know why it is doing this? Also I lost my ability to mount my CD.
All this happened when I was trying to compile some fixes to fix kopete. I am not sure what happened but it messed up my Mandrake Community 10.1.
I am trying to avoid doing an upgrade and I'd also like to know why this happened and if it can be repaired.
Thanks....
