openssh and putty configuration help

Hi all

I want to setup a cvs server using ssh connection. I have installed openssh server on the mandrake9.2 box and putty on my windows box.

i can login with ssh via password prompt, but I am hoping to do the authentication with public key/private key

I have setup the public key under my home directory and also config the sshd_config file

I add the private key in pagent and try to open a terminal with it, but it still asks me for passwords

did I miss something???

You need to place the public key of the client pc into the server you want to connect to..

see man ssh and man ssh-keygen for instructions..

it turns out that the public key I generate using PuTTY does not work with openSSH

if I generate the keys with ssh-keygen in linux and transfer the private key to my windows box and import it using PuTTY, it works flawlessly!
