OpenOffice & Java RPM

Hi
Have downloaded and installed Openoffice 1.1.1 during setup requested Java.
Downloaded Java RPM j2re-1_4_2_04-linux-i586-rpm and install instructions.
The Folling packages have bad signatures
Missing signature (Md5 ok)
Package Installation Yes
How will this efect Openofffice and How do I know that Java is now installed?

Hi Maurice,

The error message when installing the RPM suggests that the package has not been "signed" and therefore should not be trusted. Use at your own risk -- but then again, I get this with almost every RPM I install from any source other than the official Mandrake CDs, and I usually ignore it. So don't sweat about it too much.

The bottom line is, the RPM has installed and performance of OpenOffice and Java won't be affected.

Check out this page from the official Java site to get Mozilla to work with Java:

http://www.java.com:80/en/download/h...le_browser.jsp

Check out this page (again from the official java site) to confirm that Java is working:

http://www.java.com:80/en/download/help/testvm.jsp

Hope that helps,
Tim
