Opening Ports
hey folks
Im using xmule in mandi 2006. How do i open single ports to allow traffic, because im having a hard time getting a hi id..

Are you using a DSL modem or cable modem? If so, you open or forward ports in the configuration utility for that hardware, not your computer.

You can open ports on the Mandriva firewall in the Mandrake Control Centre->Security GUI. If you want more control over it or you'd prefer not to use the GUI then edit the files in /etc/shorewall/ directly and restart the shorewall service to see the changes take effect.
Eg. to open port 2000 put a line like this /etc/shorewall/rules

yeah.. im using comtrend adsl2+ modem/router but router has been disabled by the isp before they sent it out.
