Only get the text Mandrake 9.2
I just installed Mandrake and when i boot it up on my machine spec:
MSI 875P Neo series mainboard
pentium 4 2.8GHz
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
i only get the text based linux Mandrake 9.2 think with a big 9.2 symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I then try to load KDE by login in and typeing KDE and it goes black and then comes up with an error from XFree86 Version 4.3.0 saying
(WW)RADEON: No mathing Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1) found
(EE) No devices detected
Fatal server error:
no screens found
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
so i go into XFdrake and i try and change some of the settings and neither my screen or the RADEON 9800 pro that i have has any drivers and any setting i try comes back with an eroor telling me to change some parameters so if anyone can tell me what to do or how to install a new version of XFree86 then any help will be very helpful and i am a complete newbie used to Windows so i dont understand the whole just text version yet so i really want to get into a graphical user interface as soon as possible
