Nvidia Problem

Hi
I have a problem with my Nvidia drivers.I just installed the driver and edited XFree86Config and it all went well,but now I cant login.When I enter my login and password it looks as if its going to start but then it returns me to login screen.I fear I edited Config file wrong so I wonted to edit it again in failsafe mode but when I enter vim /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 it opens a blank file and at the butom says new file.Can anybody help me please?Thanx

Hit CTRL-ALT-F1 to get to the console.

Login as root and make your changes.

Finally type

service dm restart

Is there a file called /etc/X11/XF86Config? It may be that this later version has dropped the -4 part.
If not, look under /etc/X11R6.
