NVIDIA Geforce4 Display Problem

I just recently installed Mandrake 10.0 on my computer and I am having problems getting the interface to display properly. I have tryied everything I know how, but then again I am an absolute newbie. The problem is that I have a 15 inch screen, on a Dell Latitude D800, which is a little wider then normal and I can't get the display to stretch all the way across the screen. The graphical interface is only using a little more then 3/4 of the screen. Anybody have a clue on what to do?

on the NVIDIA display settings there should be a selection with a bigger@xx try them. Sounds like the refresh rate is off.

EDIT
May be under Mandrakes display settings, you may not have the NVIDIA one.

I have tryied different resolution settings. But unfortunatly nothing helps until i reach a certain high value where the screen just goes blank after a reboot. Which is a similar problem to what some people have been having in this forum.

hi,
Just a wild suggestion but see if your monitor is configured with the correct Horizontal and vertical frequencies..
You have to get the specs from your monitor book if your model is not shown..Go to custom and configure it..
Goodluck,
jolphil
Edit, I do not know if your Dell is a desktop or a laptop? If laptop forget this post..
