nvidia driver in Mandriva 2009

Hi,

I'm trying to install the nvidia driver for my 8800GT card in Mandriva 2009. I'm using XFdrake to install the 177.70-2mdv2009.0 proprietary driver, but when I click on "test", I get the following error message

Code:
An error occurred:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module!
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***

Try to change some parameters
In addition, I get the following error message in the shell
Code:
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 2.6.27-server-0.rc8.2mnb (i586)
What's wrong?

The nvidia drivers build a kernel module, sort of like a device driver in windows, and this isn't getting made for an unknown reason.
If you install the nvidia drivers by hand, you can get a more specific error message, or maybe it will work.

Apparently the 177.70-2mdv2009.0 have a known issue with 2009.0. I've downloaded the latest 180.29 mandriva drivers, but I'm not sure how to install them. If I use XFdrake it still detects the default ones from the DVD installer. How do I install the new ones?

To use that driver, you will also need dkms-nvidia-current-180.22-1mdv2009.0 and kernel-*-devel for your running kernel.

Yes I've already gotten the former, and uprmi'ed the latter.
