NOOB here, looking for some answers

Hi guys i have been looking at linux for a while now and i have been told that mandrake is the best for noobs. i just have a few questions.

Im running an 833 mhz, 512 mb ram, im running windows XP pro now. here are my questions.

#1)

I have 2 hds one is a 20 gig and that is my master, the other is an 80 gig and that is the slave. My os is on the 20 gig master. i wanted to put mandrake on my 80 slave, will that cause a problem? if it will i have about 10 gigs left on the 20 gig master hd how much should i partion to use linux?

#2)

I have heard that u cant format a hd with linux on it with windows xp or whatever is used to format a hd, since windows will not requize the linux partion, is this true? if so how would i go about removing linux if i dont like it?

#3)

what program should i use to partion my hd to install linux? is it a problem that i have both of my hd formatted to NTFS will that be a problem?

Thanks for all ur help, i u wouldnt mind catching me on aim that would be a huge help my screen name is PSUBALL10

In response to #1: It will not be a problem installing Mandrake onto Hard drive #2 (80 GB).

In Response to #2: If you do not like Linux, you can easily format your second hard drive (80 GB) in Windows, or any hard drive formatting program. Even the Windows installation CD has a formatting tool you can use in there. It WILL detect the partition, but it will not see the data on the Linux drive.

In Response to #3: When you download the Mandrake CD's, the Mandrake installation wizard will have a formatting setup. It is graphical and easy to use during the installation so that will partition/format/setup your Linux drive.

Hope this answers your questions.

The CDs are boot images. You put the CD in the drive, reboot the machine, and up comes the installer....
