No sound system bell-9.2

After I turned on aRTs,dispite I switched to system bell,I get no sound.
Mandrake9.2,I can have aRTs sound but no system bell .
everything else exept java(j2re) works.
How do I repair the problem?

their is a nice lil program called aumix that comes on the mandrake installation disk install that and that should help solve the problem

type the fallowing command


the program should load ajust the ratio levels to your desired level and see if that help solv the problem
