su to Root user in a Konsole and post the output of

lspci -v

If you've already got a driver for your card either compiled into the kernel or running as a module, then check your

Re: no sound mdk 9.2

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem with my 9.2 build [and, oddly enough, the same problem on 9.1]. On my 9.2 system I tried to re-use the fix that worked for 9.1, but my fix used Aumix, which is not shipped with 9.2.

I am guessing that you are using KDE with your 9.2 build. I spent hours working through the tools and utilities trying to solve the problem. Then I tried Gnome. One of the desktop [Multimedia->Sound->] Applications brings up a mixer-like display with a lot of vertical sliders. One of these re-enabled the sound for my machine.

I'll try and find the exact one and post another reply in this thread, but as a start you might like to try looking through the sound utilities within Gnome...

Hi I also had no sound when I first loaded Mandrake 9.2. I used KMix under the "Sound" setting and it fixed mine. The music panel came up and I could see the counter was running, so I knew that it had to be a matter of volume control not software.
