no sound in mandrake 10.1
I've just installed Mandrake 10.1 community but can't get my soundcard working properly. I have a Soundblaster PCI 128 (CT4810, is the product code, i think). I had the same problem with Mandrake 9.2 but after a while I got it working, but can't remember how.
Harddrake2 shows me two units, CT5880 and CM8738, with two different driver options (snd- and not snd-) which. Right now the driver for CT5880 is es1371 and for CM8738 snd-smipci. I want to use the ALSA-system so I tried to change from es1371 snd-ens1371, but harddrake won't let me. I can change the option but after clicking OK it just reverts to the old value.
Both ALSA and the soundsystem services are running from start and I've choosen to use the ALSA output in XMMS. In System -> Config -> KDE -> Sound I've choosed ALSA but no sound there either (so it's not a XMMS problem..)
Any help is welcommed. I'd prefer if could use ALSA but if someone knows how to get it working with OSS that's fine too..
Regards,
Martin
