No keyboard

I was originally using fc6 and couldn't get my wireless usb adapter to work. I had heard in a forum that redhat and fedora have like no support for wireless networking. so i decided i would switch to mandriva free 2007 x8_64 (the only versio i could get that was on dvd) Sp i go to boot from the dvd and it shows booting and then a bunch of type flashes through and i am brough to the main men u. This is where my problem arises. I get no keyboard functionality!!!!! nothing. My keyboard is a wireless one. so i thought i would plug in my wired USB one and that didn't work either. None of the button strokes register. Not even the num lock button!!!! If I can't get this to work, I have no clue what to do! I heard some place else that Ubuntu or Kubuntu is a lot like fedora core. If I can't get this to work, i might switch to that. Or maybe just go back to windows!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!! Thaks!

Turn off plug n play os in your bios prior to installing any Linux. Linux relies upon the bios. I have a wireless setup that works fine.

There is no option for plug and play os:mad: (my desktop is a newer dell)

Then does your bios have an option for usb keyboard? Check that out.
