no images on apache..

Im a new member and quite a newbie on linux.

I am trying to get apache running and have encountered a problem: no browser will show any kind of graphics when browsing the 'localhost'.. They do show up in-page, but just as a white rectangle. I can click-n-download them, but i cannot see them. Their filenames show up in-browser..

I even downloaded a page from the net with images, and tested it from my /var/www/html - folder. It ran nicely with gfx. There are no 'permissions' differences on the files.

My site was originally stored on a NTFS harddrive, I just copied them over to the linux partition after getting apache up and running(seemingly)..

Anyone got a tip or two? Would appreciate it!

btw: what filesystem would work best for editing/capturing DV under linux?
