No CDROM device found on install.

Hi, I am trying to install mandriva 2009 power pack, and I have some problems during installation.

I have a NEC DVD-burner.

"Error - No CDROM device found" is displayd right after "loading linux kernel". I have tried "pci=nomsi" and "noapic" as choices, but I must admit that I have no clue about what to do now. Any suggestions?

This is semi-solved, since I was able to install mandriva from an external usb drive and an iso-image. However, I can still not access my DVD-burner.
