Newbie needs internet help (nonWinmodem)

Hi, I'm very new to Linux and am using Mandrake 10.0. I am having trouble connecting to the internet. I'm using a D-Link DFM-560E external modem and have had it working once (when I first plugged it in). Anytime I connect to the internet it always gets no dial tone.
I am running a dual boot with XP and the modem works great with Windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you post a more detailed description of your problem, eg. the program you are using to connect, configuration files etc. ? Also you could try to check the wiki pages at [http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Set_up_modem]. There's some info on the topic.

Um yeah I'm just using KPPP to connect. I just followed the wizard thing from the control center. The first time i went through it it worked fine and connected with no problems. I have tried everything, even reinstalling several times. I know there are no problems with the modem since it works great with XP. But I just can't get a dial tone and it won't connect with Linux.
