Mandrake.... um, I mean... mandriva installer seems to have it built-in. It detects the controller just fine. I think the problem is that it is a SATA controller, so the installer is looking for SATA drives, but there are only PATA drives on the controller. I may be way off, but nobody else seems to have a diagnosis.
