hi there. Have recently installed mandrake 9.1 and am experiencing freezes (generally after 45 minutes). The computer duel boots to xp with no problems, so I know the hardware is fine. My video card is a Radeon 5200. Mandrake doesn't recongnise the manufacturer, and module is unknown (don't know if this is relevent). Downloaded the ati rpm for the driver but when I install it it says it conflicts with another peice of software. Any recommendations?? Do you think it would be ok to boot up in console mode and force the install.

you have do "rpm -ivh --force <package.rpm>"
it must be in conflict with Mesa lib
