net5523/athfmwdl gives ndiswrapper (import:245): unknown symbol: ntoskrnl.exe:ZwReadF

Hello,

Looks like this is a recurring problem! I have 2.6.12-12mdk-i586-up-1GB
and using ndiswrapper version 1.2

dmesg gives me
ndiswrapper version 1.2 loaded (preempt=no,smp=no)

My understanding is that i586-up-1GB is for smp machines
Is this the problem?

if it does not say smp in the name it is not for smp
In theory smp kernel should work ok on a single processor PC,
although this is not the kernel that should be used

Is you card working now (is it an old problem) solved in
your other thread by using gcc options?

I tracked down the problem and it has to do with gcc. There is a compiler bug
for this particular CPU (VIA C3). Here is a quick reference and bug fix. With the
bug fix, ndiswrapper works great.

I have documented this solution in another thread also.
