need my WinXP to be able to print to the printer connected to man9.2 machine
Here's an easy one I hope. I have two machines; the one runs mandake 9.2 and the other Winxp. I have an HP 2410 fax/print/scan attached to the mandrake machine. I need to be able to print to it from the Winxp device. I thought that this 2410 had an ethernet connection and that I could just hook it up to my router and go, but no. All I have is the USB. Sooo, it seems that I should make the mandrake machine a server or something. I have looked around a little and am not sure how to do this. I have heard things about Samba. Can anyone tell me if this is applicable? While poking around I noticed a utility for setting Samba mount points(also webDAV mountpoints ) what exactly are Samba and webDAV? Thanks.:Pengy:

I think there's a windows component (packaged with windows) that allows printing to a unix print server. ControlPanel->Install Software->Windows Components ... i think...it's been a long time since I've used windows.
