Need help on torrents....

Hi there guys,
I hope someone will be able to help me on my problem.

I'm a newbie with Linux(Mandrake); previously i was using WinXP. I don't really know how o use Linux but i am learning. I just installed Mandrake on my machine... i can get most of the things to work except for Bittorrent or other torrent download manager.

Which is the best Torrent download manager to use in Linux? How do i install it?

Thanks alot.

Azureus is(arguably) the most popular bittorrent client nowadays. It depends on Java and you'll find links to install the JRE in the download page.

There are a no. of other clients too. If you are familiar with the command line, you can just download the 'bittorrent' package through URPMI . then 'btdownloadcurses.py name.torrent' would download the torrent.

Hi

I've tried Azureus; but i couldn't seem to download anything... when i tried ttesting my "Listening port" which is by default 6881 i get NAT error. I didn't download the JRE tough because i think i have it when i install Mandrake. Thanks

Well, that probably means your firewall/router is blocking the port. You should configure it to either open or forward port 6881. If it's a router look into it's documentation on how it's done. If it's a firewall Mandrake probably has a nice GUI for it (it had one when I used it like a hundred years ago).
