Need help installing/configuring Samba.

I'm running Mandrake 10.1 and wish to set up a network where I can connect to windows, xp, computers and them to connect to me.
So I need help installing or whatever you need to do on Mandrake 10.1, I know that there is some parts or the entire sambo is installed. Anyone who can explain in a way that a newbie can understand? It would be great with details on files that needs to be downloaded..

Start by typing as root (to change to root type in a konsole screen, su press enter, then input your root password) rpm -q samba this will confirm if Samba is installed. If it's not installed type urpmi samba, this will install samba and all dependencies.
