konsole is just a terminal program, like the DOS program in Windows NT/2000/XP. The programs you run within it are seperate, command line programs such as ls, cat, vi etc. According to those instructions you are using vi to edit the file (vi is a non-GUI text editor) so the command to save the file and quit vi would be:
vi isn't very user friendly for someone used to a GUI (but it is very powerful once you get used to it) so I'd suggest in future you use a GUI text editor to edit files. So for example you'd have:
kwrite /home/xxx/.asoundrc
gedit vi /home/xxx/.asoundrc
