ndiswrapper/g card
Hi,
can anyone help me w/ installing ndiswrapper?
I'm using mdk10 w/ 2.6.11 kernel. i can compile it, and it detects a successful installation. however, i can't get the lights to go on. here's some copy/paste of the files. i'm using buffalo 54g pcmcia on dell laptop.
[root@localhost ndiswrapper-1.2rc1]# ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
netcg54l driver present
modprobe ndiswrapper
ndiswrapper version 1.2rc1 loaded (preempt=no,smp=no)
[root@localhost ndiswrapper-1.2rc1]# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
any ideas?
i compiled it from source.

Try and older version of ndiswrapper. I couldn't get 1.1 working on my laptop, so I wound up installing 0.9, and it worked the first time. Don't use the RPM either, download the source and compile it yourself, the RPM doesn't work (installs 0.8 when it's supposed to be 0.9 and modprobe never works). That worked great for me, might work for you too. Just go by the instructions at the ndiswrapper installation wiki. Good luck.

I've built and installed 2 versions of ndiswrapper on Mandrake 10.1 Official, no problem. The original poster hasn't been to this thread in nearly two weeks anyway, so I'm sure he's either gotten it figured out or given up by now
