Question My IPC laptop goes to sleep on MDK 10.0

I have a IPC PIII 1GHz laptop and I just installed MDK 10.0. The installation worked perfectly, but after the restart when I enter Linux, my computer starts to "sleep" about every 5 min. (He starts to sleep, I push the wake button, and he wakes up; after about 5 min. he sleeps again).
A friend told me to disable power management from bios, but didn't work.
Any other suggestions?
I tried coffee, but didn't work

Are you using the default window environment, KDE? If so, try adjusting the power management functions through the KDE control panel. You may also want to try extending the time that it takes for the screensaver to kick in (sounds like it goes straight to sleep). Good luck.

It enters suspend or standby...whatever, even in text mode. I changed screen saver time from 1 min. to 30, just to be sure. I discovered "power management" in KDE . There is a tab in "battery..." called APM. There, there are 2 checkboxes: 1. Enable suspend; 2. Enable standby. The problem is that both of them are checked, and cannot be unchecked, I don't know why.
I've noticed some other thing. On the same computer, I run a win2k. If I start my computer after o long shutdown, 2-3 hours..he works perfectly in Linux, no suspend or something else..(for 30 min., then I rebooted to win)...Then after 2-3 hours on win, I rebooted to linux aaaaand..the same problem. Maybe it's something about motherboard temperature..some kind of sensor, I don't know. I didn't find anything about temperature in his BIOS. Maybe it's just APM. Please help!
