Multibooting with w98se, mdk9.2 and fedora

Hi all,
I have a box ( ECS K7SEM Duron 1400+, 192 MB ) with 2 hard disks, 40GBs (primary master)
and 20GBs ( primary slave). 40GBs hd was partitioned into 3, those are 15GBs, 15GBs and
10GBs. 20GBs is single partition.

hda1 contains w98se, hda5 contains windoze files.
The third partition contains Mandrake9.2 with these linux partitions :

hda6 /swap 392MBs
hda7 /boot 196MBs
hda8 / 1.400MBs
hda9 /usr 3.400MBs
hda10 /home 4.200MBs

The second hard disk contains Fedora core1 with these linux partitions :

hdb1 /boot 500MBs
hdb2 /home 6.000MBs
hdb3 /usr 5.000MBs
hdb5 / 2.000MBs

Mandrake9.2 and Fedora core1 share the common /swap partition, that is hda6.

I used grub bootloader that contains these items :

Mandrake9.2 >
kernel (hd0.6)/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda8 devfs=mount acpi=ht splash=silent resume=/dev/hda6

Fedora C1 >
kernel(hd1,0)/vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb5 devfs=mount acpi=ht splash=silent resume=/dev/hda6

Windows >
chainloader +1

If I use the grub bootloader with above items, I can only boot Mandrake9.2 and windows but not Fedora. Sometimes when I rebooted, the items on Mandrake was changed to kernel (hd0,7) so I failed to boot Mandrake. I have to edit the grub bootloader first to make it (hd0,6). How can I save the changes on grub that I made so it will correct anytime I boot my box.

One other thing that I observed is when I changed to lilo bootloader, I got error dialog as :
" An error occured.
Lilo failed : Warning : '/proc/partition' does not exist
disk scan bypassed
Fatal : open /vmlinuz : no such file on directory "

What is the cause of this error ?
Sorry for a long posting

Thanks in advance.

Did you try using lilo? I triple boot Mandrake, Gentoo, and Windows 98SE with it..

Thanks Gary.
When I first installed MDK9.2 , I was using grub bootloader, but as I wrote before, the MDK9.2 boot partition was changed to hd0,7 that should have to be hd0.6 I did not know what is the cause and have to edit the entry item for MDK to kernel (hd0.6) to be able to boot. In MCC, I changed bootloader to lilo and when I reboot, I got error as above. I tried to reinstall MDK9.2 and got a terminal session with Login: prompt.
I login as root and tried "startx KDE" but no x-session. What is the proper syntax to log into KDE GUI.
Thanks in advance.
