Mozilla, Volume, DNS Settings
I have three problems here, two of which seem definitely related.
(1) I have four accounts set-up for my mandrake 10.1 (that I have had for only a couple of months/newbie) - one for root, guest, me, and wife. On three of the four accounts I can run Mozilla - but not the account for me. If I load from the menu or icon of Mozilla, it will seem like it is properly loading, but then nothing happens. On root, guest and wife - all works just fine.
(2) Having set-up DSL service through SBC, I changed from what a slow DSN server to one that is very fast. The problem is that the change is not permanent. Everytime I log-on, I need to go through MCC to Internet Connection Configuartion and manually change First DNS Server. I have tried several times to Save Current Settings upon logging out from a session - but that never works. How can I make the change and then have that be it?
(3) Related to (2) - I need to change the volume setting each time I log-on as well. The setting as it stands to low (I have external Boston Acoustics that worked plenty fine on Windows). I right-click volume settings from my taskbar, Open Volume Settings, and then I have to change the PCM-2 setting and set it high. I also set it for lock - but when I boot up the next time, it is back to its original setting. PCM-2, CD and Video are the only settings which have an effect on the volume.
Thank-you for your time.
