mozilla and firefox staring problem

I install Mandrake 10 for my dualboot system

I select Mozilla 1.7 as web browser package. I strart it up. It says" strating web browser" on task bar and then it just quits. So I rpm -e Mozilla package

I download rpm firefox 1.0.4 package to install and still it does the same thing.

Staring and then quits.
Do you knwo what the problem is? How do I fix this?

Thanks

often when programs do that it is helpful to tell the program to start from the command line. If it fails it should print out some details as to why it failed. So try opening a terminal session and type:
Code:
[don@localhost ~]$ /usr/bin/mozilla-firefox
[don@localhost ~]$

I manage to get it going.

When I installed Firefox with root, it created ./mozilla in homeuser directory thus blocking access by homeuser. I just deleted that using root and then create same ./mozilla folder using homeuser account.

Now I run into a little bit of a problem. Firefox can't seem to access onto internet despite the fact that I can gain access internet via Gain messenger. Is this wierd?

I have linksys router connected to a LAN. the LAN configuration seems fine to me with all the correct IP number and such since I use DHCP.

Might this be router problem with Mandrake 10? does anyone have the same problem with Mandrake with the same kind of setup.

Router using DHCP, Firefox installed = without internet....... How do I fix this?
