move and resize "/" partition - lilo ?

I have a dual boot windowsxp / mdk 2005Le and i need to move and resize the linux root partition. I think this can be done using Partition Magic under windows, but my doubts deal with lilo: lilo has a map with disk physical adresses of where lilo loader and kernels are. If i move the "/" physical address i think lilo will fail to load. Is there a smart way to fix this problem ?
Or do i have to go through Mdk install again using the update feature ?

thanks all
Enrico

If I understand correctly what youre doing, just reinstalling the bootsector should cover the problem. So, after the process, type: lilo
to re-install the bootsector. If the dev paths have changed, remember to change those too to the lilo.conf.

Thanks for your reply,

i'm only adjusting in size some of the partitions on the disk, i'm not adding or deleting any partition. But i've read somewhere that lilo stores in the MBR a direct link to the lilo loader; if this loader is moved, than lilo fails to start.
I have to resize the partition using windows, therefore if i'm not able to start linux i can't run lilo and fix it.
Has anyone ever done this before ?

thanks
Enrico

a bootfloppy or livedistro will get you in so you can run lilo.
