I just installed 10.1, everything seems ok but my mouse doesn't work, any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.

You can run /usr/sbin/mousedrake to verify that mandrake identified
your mouse correctly.

You can also check to see if the device files are setup correctly. If you're
using a PS/2 mouse you should have a character device with major
number 10 and minor 1 named /dev/psaux. And mandrake likes to
create the symlink /dev/mouse to /dev/psaux.

I have had some mouse problems too, so maybe someone else can
provide some better info.

In Slackware, I was used to restarting gpm to get the mouse to function
correctly. I don't know if Mandriva has something similar...

Try F12 to open konsole. check your xorg.conf file.

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | more

Check the "Section InputDevice" and see if it corosponds with what you actually have installed.

SAMPLE:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
EndSection

Login as root and launch xorg config or as "crosseyedalien" stated "mousedrake" (did not even know there was one).

$su
password: *******
# xorgconfig
or
# /usr/sbin/mousedrake

good luck

KC
