Mouse and Keyboard not working on install

When i try to install mandrake linux onto my computer i can't get past the choice of language because neither my keyboard nor mouse seem to work. They are both USB and i have no ps2 ports on the computer at all. Looking at the documentation it says about turning off a BIOS option which leaves PnP devices to be detected by the OS but i can't find anything like that in my BIOS or in fact anything to do with PnP devices. Any ideas?
Cheers

You should have a bios option which reads something like

Enable Legacy USB support.

Turn this ON to permit your mouse and keyboard to be supported at the bios level instead of the OS level.

I already enabled that for both the keyboard and mouse (they were listed seperately) :(

So you CAN manipulate bios changes by using the USB keyboard right?

Yeah, it works fine in the bios and when you get the screen to choose install or help. Then it starts the install part and detects USB devices before going to the first screen of the install setup, where you choose the language. From then on nothing works.

A parameter will have to be specified prior to the actual load of the installation kernel, so that you can continue.

What that is offhand I don't know but this should be covered in the errata.
