I have now managed to install Mandrake 10.1 which seems to running ok
As I am a newbie how do I gain access to the floppy ?
I have an icon on the deck top but when I click on it to mount it all I have in the drop down box is Open, Append to Kaffine play list and Properties.
In the properties There is only a general tab and device mntfd0floppy next to the floppy icon.
Any offers thanks.
hi,
normally:
on desktop
- via doubleclick
- via rightclick and ´mount ...´
on console
- via mount command (see ´man mount´ for help):
´mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy´ or similar (depends on your system)
Something still aint right. Although there is an icon on the desktop I cannot do anything with it. I have some documents on a floppy which I an trying to open in Open Office. I cannot gain access to the floppy drive from Open office and when I try to format a blank floppy I get a message saying that dev/fdoh1140 is not installed on this machine. ?
