mounting ?

Hi,
Mandrake 10.1
I didnt like the folders that mandrake had mounted my ntfs partitions so I have made my own folders and Ive edited fstab so it mounts them into my new folders and it has worked fine.
The problem is that I have removed the old folders that are no longer used but when I reboot the system recreates these folders even thought they arent used.
Where is the file that "mkdir /mnt/win_c" makes these directories before mounting ?
I have done searches for this in /etc and /boot but cant find this command in any file ?

Any ideas anyone ?

I believe is either

/etc/mtab

or

/etc/fstab

Hi,
They have the same entires.
I edited the fstab and after a boot up the mtab has the same text in it as fstab but none of these have the command to make the folders just to mount the partitions in them.

Like I said its mounting OK and I have bookmarks to go directly into these fokders I have set up but I am intersted to find out how it keeps remakeing these folders.
The strange thing is If I remove them as root then hit the recycle button in Konqueror they reappear even though the ones I removed are still in the waste bin.
Maybe theres a ghost in my machine ?

/etc/mtab is info about what's currently mounted. It shouldn't be edited.

Does the entry in fstab reappear even if you have removed it? If so I think is probably got something to do with
the "dynamic" rpm. That handles removable drives and might think your NTFS partition is such a thing.

Otherwise it can be some sort of automounting. Check if you have some /etc/auto.* entries.

Hi,
Thats the strange thing, the entries in mtab and fstab remain the way I edited them.
I cant find an auto file anywhere.
Ive been through nearly every file that can be opened with kwrite in /boot. /etc, and /dev and I cant find an entry any where that would make a directory, which is what is happening.
It must do a scan for these partitions on start up and create the directories to mount them in and then I intercepted it after the scan with my new entries which mount them in my directories.
So there must be a file somewhere that makes the directories after the scan and before the mount file.
Its a funny carry on ?
