Mounted Devices On Desktop

The hard drives in the system have been mounted as well has some windows shares on other pcs on the network. The problem is that they are being shown on the desktop. How do I remove them? I don't want them unmounted, I just want them off the desktop.

What GUI are you using. Gnome? KDE? How is it set up?

KDE.
Please excuse the noobness, but how is what set up?

Mandrake automatically set up the drives, and I set the network drives through mcc.

You have to configure your desktop manager. No matter which of them.
In KDE is an option (I guess that in 'look & feel', but I don't know exactly where) in wich you can change the icons to be shown in the desktop about the mounted or unmounted partitions.

Everything that you do, do it with Linux.
