module unloading

I just got a new laptop and am trying to get the Linksys wpc54g wireless card working. I think I'm on the right track, and kinda sorta have it partially working. One thing that I would appreciate help with though is in part of the instructions from ndiswrapper....

Under "distributions" it tells me:

> Mandrake 10.1

> Mandrake 10.1 have build in the ACX100/111 Sourceforge project driver > as a kernel module, you will need to remove this before install the
> ndiswrapper

Can someone here tell me how to make mdk10.1 not load a particular module, specifically this module?

One other little thing with 10.1 (I think it's a little thing anyway), during boot up, I get a message saying that the file "/dev/rawctl" is missing. Is there anyplace I can get that, or replace it in anyway?

As far as not loading up the ACX module:

type "find /etc | grep autoload" at prompt

edit the file in modules.autoload.d that this finds (make sure it is the right one for your kernel version) and remove the acx*** module from the list

then run "modules-update". should keep it from loading

hope this helps,

Thanks for the idea, but it doesn't seem to return anything, I get:

[karl@localhost karl]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost karl]# find /etc | grep autoload
[root@localhost karl]#

Does not point to anything at all, let a alone the file I need.
