missing xorg development package

hi all, I've tried to install a few apps and they all give the same error:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your itallation and add the correct paths!

I checked under /usr/X11R6/include and yes there's nothing there except two bogus folders. I then checked the 10.2 dvd for a dev package, no joy. I then searched the net, there were dev packages for everything except mandrake. My question is easy: where do I get the dev package/src (does it even exist, I'm starting to seriously doubt it) and if not is there a workaround?

please help I'm going nuts.

Of course, it is possible that the required includes are elsewhere... was that the exact error message?

No dev packages on the CD at all?!

If possible you should be installing all your packages from a Mandriva repository. Then you know you'll be getting packages designed for Mandriva.

To setup package installation go to this site ...

http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

and work your way through the 3 steps. It's all explained. Once youve finished step3, your repositories will be all set up so that you can access all packages via ftp.

Cheers.
