Missing Internet sound, Mandriva 2010.1

Hi,

I'm sorry if this gets complicated. This is Mandriva 2010.1, GNOME, x86_64. The short version is that I can't get streaming audio from the Internet (for instance, YouTube, Live365). I know that the sound card and stereo work, because I played a couple of .wavs and .oggs in the system sounds.

Flash seems to work in both Opera (my preference) and Firefox. (That is, as much as Flash can ever be said to work.) I'm not getting any error messages, and animation is OK. Sound is all that's missing.

Until a few days ago, I had Mandriva 2010.0 on my primary partition and it worked well. For various reasons that would make this post way too long if I went into them, I replaced it. I installed Mandriva 2010.0 on a secondary partition, did a distribution upgrade that installed Mandriva 2010.1, and everything checked out.

So, tonight I scrapped the temporary Ubuntu on my primary partition and installed Mandriva 2010.1 there. This was a clean install. And, unlike in that rather sloppy installation on the secondary partition, I have no Internet sound.

I did the "troubleshooting" suggested in MCC | Hardware | Sound Configuration.

I do have the nspluginwrapper installed.

Anything else I should be trying?

Thanks.
