what window manager are you using? if you are using blackbox, then this is what i do to get back minimized windows: middle-click on "desktop" -> the "workspaces" menu pops up -> go to the "icons" submenu to select the windows i want to see again.

I didn't know middle clicking on the Desktop give access to the minimized windows. Great !
Do you or someone else here know how to get my minimized windows visible again when they are minimized to the bottom bar?
Which setting control this?
I run KDE.

hmm... if you run kde, and windows are minimized to the task bar, then all you have to do is click on the window "entry" on the task bar to restore the window. if you come from microsoft windows, kde should look and feel familiar to you.

You may have removed the taskbar from the panel.

Thanks for your replies !
The problem is, when I minimize my windows down to the bottom panel they are not visible in the panel. At the middle of the panel I should see the minimized windows, but all I see is a blank empty field.
When I middle click on the Desktop I am able to see a list of the minimizes windows and restore them from the list.
Why can't I see them in the bottom panel?
Which setting is to be changed to make them appear again?
I remember I was playing with the settings when the minimized windows disappeared from my bottom panel. I just don't remember which setting I did change.

Try right clicking the panel and going to Add -> Applet -> Taskbar. The taskbar options themselves cant disable showing minimized windows, you must not have a taskbar there. If that doesnt work, see if taskbar in in the Remove -> Applet menu.

Thank You! It worked. Now my minimized windows show up in the bottom taskbar.
Mandrake has a lot of settings, and it can be a bit confusing to a newbie. It's easy to change a setting and afterward not know how to change it back.
