MIME type error... Konqueror crashes.
Hello,
My system is having a problem with the MIME. I wanted to use Kaffeine to be the default player of *.rmvb file, it was Totem by default. So I went into KDE Control Center to modify the MIME associations. I added *.rmvb into + video - vnd.rn-realvideo . Now I get what I want, but also something what I don`t want. Now every time I execute a program, especially when I trigger an open file browser ( something to do with Konqueror? ), this error message keeps coming up: Sorry! - Could not find MIME type, application/octet-strem ! And I cannot use the Konqueror as a browser now, it crashes everytime. It said `Signal 6 (SIGABRT)` and sometimes `Signal 11 (SIGSEGV)`. But it`s ok as file manager. The system hanged during loading into the desktop once when I tried to reboot to see if it helps. Can anyone teach me how to fix this? Or I have to reinstall the system again? Thanks alot. Seiya. |
Hi,
I end up fix this rather simple problem..... I just go into the control centre again and add an MIME type called that `octet-stream` name with nothing in it.... the problem is gone. :P sorry for such an explicit solution type of question.... Seiya. |
