Mic Troubles

Ok, I am trying to get my MIC to work in applications and it doesnt appear to work. I can hear myself in the speakers when I talk, but no apps can record my voice.

Im using Mandrake 10.1 and it was working in my Gentoo install. Im also use KDE as my DE.

Any help would be great.

BTW, I enabled full duplex in the sound system and still no go.

Are you running ALSA? Because if so you should run alsamixer and make sure that your Mic input is set as the recording device. Do that by selecting the Mic in alsamixer and hitting the space bar.

Yeah, I did that and it highlighted it as Capture, but still no workie...

It was working just fine "Out Of The Box" on my Gentoo install. I dont get it. Pretty trivial thing this really is. Maybe a Bug in Mandrake 10.1?
