Memory Loss--Big Time
I have been useing 10CE for about the last 6 weeks and really have not had any trouble, have it on a conservative machine. P3-833, Tyan mb. 512sdram. I am running Shorewall, not the version that comes with 10CE, deleted it as it dosen't work but version 2.0.0b. The memory loss issue started right after I went and did a urpmi --auto-select. Got about 555mb of data (I have all 4 disks copied to the HD). Now feature this, right before I left for work this morning I rebooted, checked top and had normal free memory and 55 processes running. When I got home 11 hours later I had 39mb free memory and 55 processes running. During the course of an evening you have to reboot this thing like it was an old Win98 machine. I would consider purchasing the Official version but I want to know if they have these bugs worked out. I ran Suse for years with out these kind of issues, and well with FreeBSD stable it's just that, stable. So what gives with the update? Seemed to me that there must be some version conflict or something, as this ain't good. Any ideas?
