Mdrk 9.2 on laptop. Report
Just a small contribution. For those who have 'big desktop' and resolution issues upon installing 9.2, I found that running "xf86config" from the prompt as root after install and asking that the config be written to '/etc/X11/XF86Config-4' (and not the default XF86Config) solved almost everything. Resolution is still not ideal, due to my Intel i810 problems, but it gives a normal desktop with the normal res/color options. I don't understand why the install doesn't do that itself, but well...
Initially, I tried to install the new XFree 4.4.0, which is supposed to take care of Intel issues, but I ran into all kinds of problems that I'm not experienced enough to deal with effectively (e.g. different directories, links, fonts). Will wait for the full doc to be released.
Also, don't plug your modem as USB but as Ethernet, if you have the choice, and use the 'Summary' page of the install to enter the networking parameters (e.g. DNS,IP). It doesn't give any red flags but it's still not set up.
