MDK 9.2 compatability with nforce1 ethernet?

I'm trying to switch from windows to MDK, but I have one problem. MDK won't connect to my school's LAN.

Under the hardware menu>ethernet it lists "nForce MCP Networking Adapter" and "nForce Ethernet Controller". The controller is listed as not being configured. When I try to configure through the button on that screen or through the network properties screen the wizard goes through loops. It says it found my hardware, asks me if i have more, and when I say no it takes me back to the beginning of the wizard.

The OS seems great, but it's useless to me if I can't get online and I'd really not like to be stuck in windows...

Any help would be appreciated!

Chris

Go Here http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261

grab either the tarball or src.rpm, build and install, then do the wizard. you will need the kernel-source installed.

Thanks, I installed the kernal source and compiled the driver source per instructions on: <http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...force+ethernet>

Now, in DrakConnect after going through the wizard, it lists my ethernet card, but it still doesn't connect.

It's listed as: "eth0 No Ip dhcp nvnet down"

In Configure, if I click "Activate Now" the Configure window freezes and the only way to close it is to close the computer settings window.

I couldn't find anything of this sort by searching the archives so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Chris

[Edited to be a little more specific.]
