mdk 9.1 + fasttrak 100 problems

hi to all,

i am trying to install mdk 9.1 on my system that has a promise fasttrak 100 o/b raid controller.

no problems to install, but i cant boot the system once the install is finished.

my config is as follows:

this is what it should be:

hda --> 20gb
hdb --> 40gb

raid drives (striped to 180gb) hdc

this is what it is:

hda --> some of the raid
hdb --> some more of the raid
hdc --> even more of the raid
hdd --> the last of the raid
hde --> 20gb
hdf --> 40gb

like i said no probs to install, but it goes onto the hdf drive under the linux install. lucky i had backups cause i installed it to hdb which showed up as 40gb and formatted my stripe anyways, when i reboot i get nothing. i have xp pro which i plan to use with wine when i get mdk going, but i dont want to format if it is still going to pick up hda as hde ??

can anyone offer advice as to how to rectify the problem.

btw, i disabled the raid volume and installed to hdb - no problems there it actually booted but when i reenabled the raid volumes the drive assignments changed and lilo wasnt happy

kind regards

Maybe you can find some help in the other thread about fasttrack 100:
Though that thread is about the installation process.

i've already searched all the forums i have found that are relevant and i cant find any similar problems to mine

something to do with Murphy's Law i think

obviously this is a problem with the fasttrack drivers,
so i'll persue that avenue.

feel free to post me any other suggestions/fixes

kind regards,

I'm currently facing the same problem.
Did you find a driver for your fasttrak controller?
It seems fasttrak 100 is not supported for mdk 9.1 yet (and probably will not be in the future)
What are you going to do?
I'm close to give up of using the fasttrak controller and switch back to IDE instead.

I've tried those drivers. You want to install Mandrake from scratch right? And you want the Install to see you hard drvives? I've had no luck so far. Mandrake never asks for any drivers and floppy etc. Weird...
