MDK 10.1 Monitor noise
I just installed mandrake 10.1 powerpack and whenever I have a window open my monitor makes a weird high pitch tone untill I minimize the window. I've made sure it is in fact the monitor where the noise is comming from. Is this a video card driver issue , or a monitor refresh rate /driver issue?
I know its not the monitor itself because it doesnt do this in windows using the same configuration of 1024x768 32bit with 75hz refresh.
My video card is an ATI 9800se 128mb.

It's a refresh-rate resolution issue. Your monitor is about to go.
Lower your settings to get a bit longer life from it.

I just meant that while the monitor is squeeling, it's about to go.
I use the same settings, 9800 pro, my monitor is spec at much higher rates but I get no end of problems if I go higher than 85Hz at the same res you mentioned.
You may need to take a closer look.
Good luck
